1 Introduction Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a mental disorder characterized by a desire for thinness and an intense fear of gaining weight (American Psychiatric Association 2022). The lifetime prevalence of AN is up to 4% in women and 0.3% in men (van Eeden et al. 2021). Comorbid mental disorders such as major depressive disorder and anxiety disorders are highly prevalent in individuals with AN (Hambleton et al. 2022).
