General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao has turned over one unit of ambulance to Barangay Lagao. The city government said Lagao Barangay Captain Jaime Tatad expressed his gratitude for the ambulance that his village received. Tatad said the vehicle would help the barangay to immediately respond to emergency situations. The ceremonial turnover Tuesday, December 12, was also witnessed by the city and barangay officials.

Bacoor Mayor Strike Revilla is happy for city residents who will now benefit from the opening of the Molino Flyover, which had faced delays. But Revilla said he hoped the national government would do more to address right of way issues that hobble infrastructure projects. Revilla and Cavite Rep. This comes after Albay Governor Edcel “Grex” Lagman announced his plan of getting health insurance card to Capitol employees next year. Batangas Gov. Dodo Mandanas saw to it that children fighting cancer would have something to cheer them up during the holidays. Mandanas led the distribution of gifts to them as part of the Bigay-Handog sa Cancer Warrior Children activity of the Batangas Provincial Blood Council. Sorsogon Rep. Quimbo said the measure is set to become a law soon because the Senate has already approved its counterpart measure. Quimbo’s advocacy of strengthening Marikina’s shoemaking industry and its other industries are expected to benefit from the Tatak Pinoy bill.

Manila Rep. Benny Abante underscored the importance of promoting human rights, saying these play an important role in the country’s progress. “Human rights are not a luxury but a necessity, and are integral to our progress as a nation; we cannot have one without the other,” said Abante, who chairs the House Committee on Human Rights.
