WASHINGTON, June 24, 2026 — The National Press Club announced today that CBS News, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, PBS Frontline, and NPR are among the winners of this year’s prestigious National Press Club Journalism Awards. In a contest that included news outlets and journalists from across the country, spanning a range of topics and media forms, the Press Club selected a total of 18 journalism entries for recognition this year (full list of winners below).

Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months salary unless otherwise specified. Fall 2026 Semester Class meets: Mondays 8:25-11:05, Thursday and Friday 2:00-6:00.

Reporting to the senior director of strategic communications, this position serves as a primary editorial partner for the university's news and strategic communications operation. This role supports the university's strategic communication efforts by contributing advanced editorial expertise to the creation, coordination and dissemination of news and information that enhances the institution's reputation, engages key stakeholders and aligns with university goals.

Relationships between politicians and the media who cover them have become increasingly intense, but on Wednesday, June 10 in the National Press Club’s historic ballroom, fun and friendly competition will prevail as lawmakers and reporters compete in the uproariously entertaining Press & Politicians Spelling Bee. The first such event was held in 1913, with newly elected President Woodrow Wilson in the audience for the inaugural showdown, which was won by members of the House and Senate.
