>> anna: thousands of runners converged at the starting line in downtown portland earlier today for the annual portland marathon. fox 12's dylan scott was there and he's got the story. >> let's go! >> reporter: what a day for the 52nd running of the portland marathon a record setter the largest in a decade with more than 9,000 registered participants. >> it's a really beautiful day for the city to come together and support our pap participants 78 it's the traffic jam you cheer for. as thousands pack the street sunday most running or screaming at full lung capacity. [ cheering ] >> reporter: for some, like beaverton residents value and ty takayama, it was being there to support their son reese in his first undertaking of the 26.2-mile mission. >> we are super excited and proud of him he's been working really hard but we can't find him because his tracker isn't tracking. i hope i don't cry, super proud. very happy. >> reporter: others at the portland marathon. >> go, ali. >> reporter: like runner wyatt moss going the distance for a cause the atlanta native running one marathon in all 50 states this year as a message for live life to the fullest. >> this is something different. something else because i have never really felt so much joy during a race. at mile 16 i just blank blanked out. good step miles until the end of the race i was bawling tears for a good fiving or six of them and i have never done that before. >> reporter: archibald 2:22:14 was the men's run winning race and the women 2:48:21. however, marathon producer phil says everyone that came out rose to the occasion on this day. >> we are continuing to expand and looking for bring it back up to and exceed the previous high of 12,000 runners and committed to doing that. >> reporter: at if i have twond running of the portland marathon, dilla be scott, fox 12 oregon. >> anna: all right, time now to talk a look at your workweek
