The Valdosta Police Department (VPD) released preliminary details regarding an apparent murder-suicide incident that occurred on Sunday, July 12. Officials said a toddler was found unharmed inside the house where two adults were found with fatal wounds. VPD responded at about 8:40 a.m. Sunday to the 500 block of Mack Drive, according to a VPD press release. The release said that VPD responded after getting a call about a man threatening to harm himself.

Officers find toddler unharmed inside house where adults died in apparent murder-suicide
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB/Gray News) — A toddler was found alive and unharmed in a Georgia home where police responded to a murder-suicide. The Valdosta Police Department said officers responded to the home Sunday morning after receiving a call about a man threatening to harm himself. When officers arrived, they heard a gunshot inside the house and forced entry, police said. Once inside, they found an unharmed child and two adults with gunshot wounds.
Crews search landfill for body of missing 15-year-old

The search began July 13 at the Baton Rouge North Landfill. Police believe Minnieweather’s body may have ended up in the landfill after he was killed.
