>> all right. are you ready? for what? comicpalooza i know, i know. who knows with me sitting here. but we're talking about comicpalooza. okay? it's the biggest comic book and pop culture convention in texas, and it returns next weekend. >> yeah, it's pretty cool this year. celebrity appearances include william shatner and wrestling star mick foley. but as our local team shows us, the event also shines a light on the local talent. everybody talks about san diego comic-con, everybody talks about gotham city, comic-con. >> there's some that we all know that have been in the movies, have been in different things. there's a lot of different celebrities, things like that. this is a houston home grown con that has started from the bottom and now has gotten tremendous. it's a hero story in itself. comicpalooza is the biggest comic fan festival in houston. >> this show is super important because not only does it shine a light on houston itself, it shines a light on the talent and the people. >> to be able to have a comic and pop culture event of this magnitude. >> we're talking about 50,000 people. is really something special. the exhibitors at comicpalooza are one of the main features. so the top two things that people tell us is that why they want to be at comicpalooza are the celebrity and the talent , but also the shopping in the exhibitors. so this is one of our most proudest pieces. >> this year at our booth, pretty much we showcase like a medley of everything original artworks, paintings, drawings, ink and pen. we also have watercolor artists. we have 3d printing. we've got some really great talent coming in. >> again, this year. for comicpalooza fans will be the first time to be able to see william shatner. he's just an icon. to be able to have here in in houston. we've got karl urban, we've got ian somerhalder. we just have a great lineup across a diverse array of different shows and genres to be able to come in here. so really there truly be something for everyone. if you enjoy cosplay, hey, comicpalooza is the place to be. dress up, bring your costume, come out and see if you can top the people that are out here. comicpalooza returns this year, may 20th 6 to 28. back on its natural home of memorial day weekend. >> very cool. all right. >> i'm ready to see mankind. that's mick foley, by the way. i
