Pa. chaplain reflects on 9/11 service at ground zero 25 years later
COLLINGDALE, Pa. -- It's been 25 years, but Perry Messick, the fire and police department's chaplain in Collingdale, Pennsylvania, remembers September 11th like it was yesterday. "My initial response is that I was angry. I was angry. How could somebody do this?" he recalled. That anger quickly turned into action. Rather than watching events unfold from afar, Messick answered a call for chaplains to assist at the World Trade Center disaster site in New York City.
