Hawks arrest 63 year old for possessing illegal firearms
A 63-year-old man will make a second court appearance in Secunda for possession of a number of illegal guns. The man is currently kept in jail until 2 February 2023 when he returns to court to apply for bail. He was nabbed last Thursday 26 January 2023 after the Hawks were told about a man who kept various guns at his house. They went there and searched the whole house and found guns that weren’t licensed .
Sgemegeme moved to Bethal for "safety" reasons
The court heard that he is kept 170km away from Mkhondo for “safety” reasons. Vusi ‘Sgemegeme’ Motha will return to the Piet Retief Magistrates Court on 2 February 2023 for a formal bail application from the Bethal prison facility. He is kept in that facility for “safety” reasons, according to the state.

He is up for possession of illegal firearm after society accused him of hiring heartless murderers to hunt down and kill his opponents in politics. Mkhondo strongman Vusi ‘Sgemegeme’ Motha was found with multiple guns, including a 9mm pistol, a DM4 assault rifle as well as 308 hunting rifle, when a high-powered police team pounced on him in the wee hours of Monday morning. The guns in total were 23 and were found by cops to be owned by a security company linked to Sgemegeme.
