1979 Semi-Finalist

Despite being away for a bit, I don’t have time for the full-on packed post you deserve, so we’re gonna have to make do with some timely highlights and I’ll circle back for more at the end of the week. Edit of a panel from Absolute Wonder Woman #18.

Buffy came into my life at a pivotal moment and I say with no shame that I’m not sure I’m a writer today if she doesn’t arrive at that point for me, so to say I’m grateful is to understate things dramatically.

(A surprise comic! I can think of worse things!) Well, we had a surprise comic come out this week…SURPRISE!?! Obviously I knew AQUAMAN & JEFF was in the mix as I’ve…been writing it and stuff…but I did not know it was dropping this week. For all you print heads out there — it WILL be in print. I have no details on that, but I definitely did two proofs — one for digital and one for print — so… good news? Anyway, you can read more about the AQUAMAN & JEFF comic here.

Quick post today to do some updates and announcements! So I’ve been working on a new 5-issue JEFF mini-series (print) with Tokitokoro called JEFF THE LAND SHARK: SUPERSTAR! and this one is gonna be really fun, guys. Check out the write up at AIPT and also, below the main Issue 1 cover from Gurihiru you can see DazzleStorm and MagikHot designs by Toki. Chaos is coming! ;D Part of the conceit is that Mojo has made his own “Celebrity Superhero Team” in the form of the…JEFF Coast Avengers.

Sneak peeks are breaking free of their category this week as this panel from ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #18 (out next week) leads us off. It’s one of my favorite from an absolutely gorgeous issue: Crop of a panel from Absolute Wonder Woman 18 by Hayden Sherman and Jordie Bellaire. I’ve had a sort of rough week or two, with a series of little bit of bad news — always small — but small stacks up pretty quick, leaving you feeling overwhelmed before you know it.

Hello Everyone ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #17 out today! Hayden Sherman, Jordie Bellaire, Becca Carey, and Kelly Thompson I’m still working on getting out all the orders that came in when I listed the Annual and Trades last time — but the web store has been updated with ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #17 and also a precious few (I literally have 8) ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN ANNUAL #1s that have been restocked — main cover only.

I don’t have a clever opening here, and all my Valentine’s Day puns were weak as hell…so we’re gonna have to go full-on earnest here…gird them loins. I just want to thank all of you guys for the incredible support. The response to this week’s ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN ANNUAL #1 has been incredible — the response on social media has been massive, but I also received a bunch of thoughtful emails. And it really moved me.

Welcome to the third Process Junkie installment featuring Hayden Sherman’s incredible ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN designs and character work. You can read Part 1 and Part 2 here. We’re going to try to do these pretty regularly now — when we hit some good design milestones in the book — and last week’s issue #16 had a bunch (keep your eyes peeled next week for a design post that includes next week’s annual too. The Athena design is one of my favorites thus far).
