Five-year-old black Labrador Tokyo was climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland with owner Christina Bluhme when the dog began losing balance and struggling to walk. As the situation worsened, Tokyo eventually became unable to continue, prompting a call for help. The family had already spent hours making their way up the mountain when weather conditions deteriorated.

Shoalhaven City Council has launched a project aimed at streamlining and speeding up its assessment process for development applications. The Accelerated Development Assessment (ADA) Project commenced on 7 July in partnership with City of Newcastle Council and the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. Mayor Patricia White said the project would draw on Newcastle’s successful approach which had reduced development assessment times by 50 per cent.
