Blood demand is at a 10 year-high and “no shows” now makeup half of all blood donation bookings. They are particularly in need of the universal blood type, o negative. This can be given to anyone in an emergency like those involved in road accidents when there simply isn’t time to find out their blood type. In the event of a serious accident, more than 100 donations may be needed to save a life.

Yarrawonga will now have a paramedic on shift for 24 hours. Previously there would be a paramedic on-call only and they would respond from their homes. New services will also be added in Mansfield and then again next month in Cobram. Code One ambulance wait times were reduced by 20 seconds over the last three months in Wangaratta even though there was a 20% increase in calls.
Hill-Clay disappearance
Russell and Carol were last heard from on 20 March, 2020 when they were camping in the Wonnangatta valley. Since that time, police have conducted significant, meticulous and protracted searches of the area in the hope of discovering even the smallest clue as to their disappearance.

From 11:59pm Thursday evening, all local government areas in NSW and the ACT were reclassified as 'green zones' under Victoria's permit traffic light system, meaning visitors from those states will no longer need to obtain a COVID test on arrival or quarantine, if full vaccinated. Anyone who is not fully vaccinated is still subject to strict travel restrictions set by each state, with Victorians aged older than 16 who are unvaccinated barred entry to NSW for recreation.
Bright Alcohol Ban
Alpine Shire Mayor John Forsyth said the restrictions reduce the risks associated with crowds, vehicles and alcohol consumption. The shire is anticipating a busy weekend even though the event isn’t running. “It is our understanding that accommodation bookings for Bright will be near capacity, and it’s likely that many people will bring their classic vehicles with them in an informal celebration of the Rod Run event,” said Cr Forsyth.
