6GWorld
Online/Digital
6GWorld is a global community for researchers, business leaders and government who are focussed on the world ahead.
The decade from the launch of 5G to the launch of 6G will see the world change radically; in technologies, business models, attitudes and needs. How do we navigate this turbulence?
Only by bringing together a community of advanced researchers, business leaders, government figures and experts of all kinds to share their insights. Then we can
- Better understand the context and impact of research, policy and business decisions.
- Debate the best ways forward in a non-partisan environment.
- Find inspiration and fresh ideas from a broad variety of experts. Source

Search ArticlesThe Hidden 6G Bottleneck: RF Hardware Design Is Becoming a Strategic Race
Produced in partnership with Keysight Technologies The wireless industry likes to describe 6G through its most ambitious ideas. Sub-THz spectrum. AI-native networks. Integrated sensing and communication. Non-terrestrial networks. Extreme MIMO. Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces. Digital twins. Joint communication and sensing. Ubiquitous connectivity. Resilient dual-use systems. Immersive services. Distributed intelligence. All of these themes matter.
6G in Dalian: What the Latest 3GPP Meetings Reveal About the Future Radio and Network
By Emil Olbrich President, PrimeLime | VP Technology, SRG | Wireless Telecom Expert | 6G Academy Expert Editor’s note: This article is adapted, with permission, from Emil Olbrich’s personal notes following 3GPP RAN1 #125, RAN2 #134, RAN3 #132, and RAN4 #119 in Dalian, China. The observations below reflect the author’s reading of the standards discussions and end-of-meeting chair notes, not official 3GPP records.
RF Digital Twins: Why 5G-Advanced and 6G Need Predictive Simulation
RF Digital Twins: Why 5G-Advanced and 6G Need Predictive Simulation As wireless systems become more tightly coupled across RF, antenna, baseband, and channel domains, simulation must move closer to predictive validation. Produced in partnership with Keysight Technologies The conversation around 6G often starts with ambition: higher data rates, lower latency, new spectrum, integrated sensing, AI-native operation, and tighter terrestrial and non-terrestrial integration. Those ambitions matter.
Evaluating 6G PHY Evolution: What the Industry Is Really Trying to Solve
Produced in partnership with Keysight Technologies The public conversation around 6G still swings too easily between hype and dismissal. Neither helps much. A more grounded reading is that the agenda is becoming clearer just as the work becomes harder. ITU’s IMT-2030 framework already makes that visible: six usage scenarios, 20 minimum technical performance requirements, and a much broader target than simply faster wireless. The implication is straightforward. The burden of proof is rising.
Amazon’s Globalstar deal gives Amazon Leo a faster path into D2D
Why it matters: Amazon is not just buying a satellite operator. It is buying spectrum, operational know-how, and an existing Apple-facing service layer that could accelerate its move from broadband-only LEO ambitions into direct-to-device connectivity.
SoftBank’s Physical AI push gives AI-RAN a sharper purpose
Why it matters: AI-RAN has often been framed as a future-looking convergence story across radio, compute and orchestration. SoftBank is now tying it to something more tangible: Physical AI, where vision-language models interpret the environment and vision-language-action systems turn those decisions into motion. In SoftBank’s framing, the network edge is not just a better place to host inference. It becomes part of the control loop. The big picture: This is part of a broader repositioning.

3GPP in Fukuoka: 6G Moves Closer to Real Standards Work
Why it matters: Fukuoka was not the moment when 3GPP “defined 6G.” It was the moment when 6G started to look less like a vision exercise and more like an organized standards program. Release 20 is where 3GPP is running the key 6G studies. Release 21 is expected to be the start of normative 6G work, with the timeline due to be finalized by June 2026.
AI Grid, Unpacked
NVIDIA is trying to shift telecom’s role in the AI era from connectivity provider to distributed AI infrastructure provider. Its AI Grid vision describes a distributed, interconnected and orchestrated platform that links AI factories, regional hubs and edge sites so workloads can run where latency, cost and service requirements make the most sense. That matters because it reframes the industry’s opportunity.
RF Digital Twin for 5G Advanced and 6G Wireless System Design and Validation
May 28, 2026 14:00 CET / 09:00 ET As 5GAdvanced and emerging 6G systems push the limits of bandwidth, intelligence, integration, and energy efficiency, system performance is increasingly governed by subtle interactions between RF hardware, antenna arrays, baseband algorithms, and dynamic propagation environments. Accurate cross-domain modeling combined with predictive validation prior to fabrication is therefore essential for successful design and deployment.
