Are parents really that upset about New Jersey's new no-phones-in-school rule? Truth be told, my friends with grade-school-aged kids have had mixed reactions. Some think this was absolutely necessary. Others are now panicking because they won't have constant contact with their kids throughout the day. And here's my take: our parents didn't have constant contact with us in elementary school. Even in high school, they weren't texting us all day. They had things to do. We had things to do.

This Labor Day weekend has everybody MESSED UP. I know I can't possibly be the only one who feels this way, right? Some kids have already started school. Some kids don't go back until after Labor Day. Some businesses are giving employees Friday and Monday off, while others are only giving them Monday. So basically, nobody is living the same life this week. And then there's the weather. It's still so warm outside that if I see anybody trying to tell me fall has officially arrived, it may get violent.

The restaurant was clean and inviting. Our server, Al was very attentive and courteous throughout our time at Margaritaville. The menu is very inviting. I decided to have the Barbecue Combo. It includes a roasted half chicken and half rack of ribs smothered in BBQ sauce served with french fries.

Take a look around this week. That yellow tinge showing up on trees all over the state isn't your imagination. It's early September, and the fall foliage change is just getting started. Consider this your reminder: now is the time to actually plan those leaf-peeping trips, before the good weekends fill up. Most people default to New York State, the Poconos, or New England when they think about great fall color. Fair enough, those places earn the reputation.

Mays Landing, N.J. — A Gloucester County woman has pleaded guilty to a brutal attack at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, kicking a woman in the face and leaving her unconscious with a fractured nose and a subdural hematoma. Anntanette Johnson of Clayton pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree aggravated assault. An agreement calls for a recommended three-year state prison sentence under the No Early Release Act.
