It’s History!  Looking back on this date…. 410 years ago – In 1614, Hungarian Countess Elizabeth Bathory passed away in prison. She believed that “Blood Baths” from the blood of young girls would preserve her complexion. Over 10 years, she supposedly kidnapped 610 girls and hung them in chains in her castle as a source for blood. When she was captured, her accomplices were beheaded and burned. Although some would try to argue that she was innocent.

Hey star-gazing space cadets!  The Perseid Meteor Shower, one of the most spectacular shows of the year, has returned for a six-week run!  Just roll out a couple hours before sunrise on a clear morning and look up!  It’s the coolest part of the day, and that’s a bonus, even if you’re not an early riser. The annual Perseid meteor shower has begun lighting up the nighttime sky, leaving bright trails of colorful light as they stream through Earth’s atmosphere, NASA reports.
