(edited for publication) Contributed Continuing with the amazing achievements of the young members in our community, at the September meeting the Gilgandra PROBUS Club listened to Hayden Whiteman's story. Having been school captain at both his primary and high school and beginning a university education, he was drawn back to Gilgandra. A previous teacher notified him of a position at MH Thomas and Gilgandra Real Estate agency and that was the start of his career.

Following her four winners which included the cup with Avoid Me at Geurie Picnics last Saturday, Dubbo trainer Connie Greg landed a winning double with Cobocco and Tampa Bay at Wellington. Bred by Dr Bob and Mrs Jean Slacksmith, Cobocco is the latest of multiple winners produced by the broodmare Coasters.

Sport Raced at Enngonia, Saturday September 19, 2026 Charleville trainer Les Baker had a two-state double on the same day with Deciduous winning the Morven Cup in south-west Queensland while Turnstar won the 1400 metres Dunk Insurance Enngonia Cup in north-west NSW. Runner-up to stablemate Deciduous in the recent Betoota Cup in Queensland, Turnstar started the strongly supported $2.80 favourite at Enngonia and had Nyngan based Wendy Peel in the saddle.

Narromine - raced Monday, September 21, 2026 The very fit seven-year-old chestnut mare Aoife backed up from winning over 1600 metres at Wellington last Tuesday week, to win again over the same distance on Monday at Narromine. A popular result for the locals, Aoife is trained at Narromine by Kylie Kennedy and was ridden by Heavelon Van Der Hoven formerly from Namibia.
