Multi-platinum country star Jon Pardi is coming to Tuscaloosa for one of the biggest football weekends of the year. Pardi will bring his Gamblin' Man Tour 2026 to the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater on Friday, October 23, at 7 p.m., the night before the University of Alabama's Homecoming football game against Texas A&M at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Heat Advisory for many counties in Central and West Alabama. This advisory is in effect from Monday, July 20, at 10 a.m. through Tuesday, July 21, at 9 p.m. Remember that hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Gov. Kay Ivey announced Friday that Alabama has deployed four Type III Swiftwater Search and Rescue teams to assist Texas as the state battles life-threatening flooding. The teams include personnel from Mobile, Lauderdale, Cullman, Marshall, DeKalb, Jefferson, Shelby and Chilton counties. Each team consists of eight trained responders and multiple rescue boats designed to operate in active flood zones during search, rescue and recovery missions.
