Newsmaker of the Week // Danny Dietrich
Danny Dietrich has not had an ideal 2026 season by his standards as he has less wins than he did at this point last year and has seemed to struggle with consistency at times. However, “Double D” sent a strong message to his competitors last week that he is heading back in the right direction as he pocketed $8,000 in the Jack Gunn Memorial at Williams Grove Speedway Friday before storming to a $20,000 score in the Living Legends Dream Race at Port Royal Speedway the next day.

Newsmaker of the Week // Kyle Larson
When you hear the term “The Double” in the context of racing, you think of drivers who have attempted the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. But last Saturday, Kyle Larson pulled off one of the most improbable doubles imaginable. After finishing sixth in the NASCAR Cup Series race at VA’s Richmond Raceway, Larson, with the support of his Hendrick Motorsports team, hopped on a plane to Iowa to make in time for the rain-delayed Knoxville Nationals feature.

Newsmaker of the Week // New Egypt Speedway
Many wondered what the future of NJ’s New Egypt Speedway was going to be when Fred Vahlsing elected not to open the speedway this season after owning it for two decades. The answer seems to be clear now as Vahlsing confirmed he’s in the process of selling the property for non-racing use, stating that “it’s done.” New Egypt Speedway has made headlines several times over its 80-year history. Now, for potentially the final time, it is once again a Newsmaker. The full story is in this weeks edition.
