Sorting out the household waste into the red, yellow or green bin can be a challenge! Does your red bin end up full to the brim? Or are you a recycling aficionado? In Australia, each person is responsible for about 60 kilograms of soft plastics going into landfill each year. But in a bid to get soft plastics out of general waste and see them recycled, Scone Tidy Towns is exploring how a program running in Newcastle and Tamworth could work in the Upper Hunter.

Muswellbrook South Public School's "Bieber Bus" hit the streets a few years back and it's making a big difference in boosting school attendance rates. As well as forming a closer connection with school families, some children have increased their attendance rate from 50 to 100 per cent.
