Together they will determine which applicants progress to Round 2 of the competition. The adjudication panel will be led by the Chair of the Panel, harpist Marshall McGuire.

We're bringing your favourite music, performers, and voices from five decades of classical music broadcasting on the ABC. Ed Le Brocq will welcome you from 6am, with other favourite presenters, Megan Burslem, Genevieve Lang, Mairi Nicolson, Vanessa Hughes, Russell Torrance, Alice Keath, Joel Carnegie, Lucas Burns and Danielle McGrane keeping you company until midnight.

In 2026, ABC Classic is 50 years young. We're celebrating five decades of broadcasting with a year-long program of concerts, special broadcasts and new initiatives. Andrea Lam will present a new piano-themed show on Sundays.() Your favourite presenters will be joined by a few new faces and some new programs. Headlining this milestone year, award-winning pianist Andrea Lam and journalist, presenter, and classical music enthusiast Leigh Sales both join the ABC Classic line-up.

Be part of Classic Choir 2025
The ABC Classic Choir journey started back in 2020 during the days of pandemic lockdowns when we couldn’t sing together in person. We commissioned Yorta Yorta/Yuin soprano and composer Deborah Cheetham Fraillon to write Christmas With You, and created an online community to sing together inthe first-ever Classic Choir.

Martin Buzacott retires from ABC Classic. He shares five of his favourite memories
Martin Buzacott is leaving ABC Classic after a long history working with the ABC. "I've reached retirement age, I'm following my passions," he shares. In 2024, Martin left his role as the presenter of Mornings on ABC Classic after a decade. He returned to ABC Classic on Weekend Brunch in 2025. Danielle McGrane will present Weekend Brunch on ABC Classic for the rest of the year. Martin says he will be dividing his time between Australia and France and researching 19th-century French composers.
