Nationally representative polling carried out by Ipsos for the Academy of Medical Sciences found that people who report being affected by health misinformation are less likely to use trusted health information sources. The polling also revealed a 41-percentage point gap between how difficult people think it is for others to spot misleading health information and how difficult they believe it is for themselves to spot misinformation.

Did you know that 16% of UK adults age 16 and above regularly use AI tools for health information? And younger people are increasingly turning to social media for their health information – 40% of Generation Z get their health information from social media, compared to 22% of older generations, according to YouGov research. The rise of health information on non-traditional platforms has led to greater concerns about health misinformation.
