This week, Christina Davidson, MD, FACOG, a nationally recognized academic leader and board-certified maternal–fetal medicine specialist, joined ACOG as its new chief medical officer. In her new role, Dr. Davidson will oversee the organization’s clinical guidance development, quality improvement, and clinical practice activities.

Each year, Congress must pass funding bills to keep the government running and fund federal agencies. Last week, the House Appropriations Committee approved its version of the Fiscal Year 2027 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill, which invests in a number of ACOG funding priorities, while cutting others, and includes concerning provisions that would limit patient access to care.

The undersigned medical organizations representing ob-gyns strongly oppose the interim final rule issued by CMS on Wednesday, June 3, which would impose work and community engagement requirements on millions of people who rely on Medicaid for care. The rule, issued in accordance with H.R. 1 of 2025, goes beyond legislative intent in several ways that will harm both patients and clinicians.

Washington, D.C.—Today, the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) released its 2026 maternal immunization schedule. The new schedule is endorsed by 13 medical societies and health organizations and marks the first time ACOG has formally released an immunization schedule that differs from federal vaccine recommendations. ACOG’s new schedule will be an easily accessible resource for clinicians, public health agencies, and patients across the United States.
