Stretching across the entire territory of Brunei Darussalam and some of the least developed states and provinces of Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, the East ASEAN Growth Area—known by its acronym BIMP-EAGA—covers more than half of the total land area of four nations but has long sat at the edges of their economies. Lessons from these initiatives are being applied and finding emerging practical uses in other ADB developing member countries. They show how the transfer of knowledge, innovation, and lessons learned can help address climate, urbanization, and demographic challenges.
