What's old is new again, or at least that's what Hollywood would like to have you believe. With that in mind, here is Contributor Off the Cuff Tom with his wishlist for potential Reboots: In today's reboot/sequel-driven landscape, there have been far more flops than successes.

Prolific writer/director Edward Burns (THE BROTHERS MCMULLEN, MILLERS IN MARRIAGE) is back on the festival circuit with his new film, FINNEGAN'S FOURSOME. Led by Burns, the film also stars Brian D'Arcy James, Brian Muller, and Erica Hernandez as the titular foursome, who travel to Ireland to spread the ashes of patriarch Jack Finnegan after his passing. As usual, this is a very personal story from Burns.

The Tribeca Film Festival is returning to Manhattan starting Wednesday, June 3rd through the 14th. This year the festival celebrates 25 years of championing diverse voices, unique storytelling, and quality film, discussions, reunions, games, and more. The Fest kicks off on June 3rd with a gala opening and the premiere of EARTH, WIND, & FIRE: TO BE CELESTIAL VS THAT’S THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD, a documentary about founder Maurice White and the influential band directed by Questlove.

Filmmaker Shane Brady (BREATHING HAPPY) had a pretty nasty thing happen to him back in 2021 when he and his wife Emily were attempting to buy their first house while the nation was still licking its wounds from the Pandemic: they were swindled out of their $20,000 down payment by a malicious agent. Despite evidence pointing to the culprit, neither the police nor the banks are able to offer any help.

As you know, Memorial Day is the official kickoff of Summer, and with the warmer weather beckoning us to outdoor fun and watery destinations, what better way to welcome Summer than with a movie about the unbreakable bond between a boy and his mermaid. In order to acquire the money they feel they deserve for a bad childhood, the children of famed artist Julian Sklar (Ian McKellen) hire a young and struggling artist to complete (forge) his much-anticipated “Christopher” series, bringing the young Lori (Michaela Coel) into the once greatly esteemed artist’s world.

Hey friends, Barbarella here. Coming to theaters, Friday, April 10, BEAST tells the story of a former MMA champion drawn back into the ring for the most consequential fight of his life. With high stakes, Patton seeks the assistance of his former trainer (Russell Crowe) to return to the ring for one last fight. There's much more to BEAST than meets the eye, and it's an enjoyable watch. Even more enjoyable, I had an opportunity to talk with the beast himself, Daniel MacPherson.
