PonyLink, the KOSDAQ company behind FutureLink, closed Friday at 3,445 won ($2.50 USD), up 26% in five sessions. Rogue AI agents attacked Hugging Face. Its defenders turned to a Chinese open-weight model.
By · August 30, 2026, 2:36 PM ET Key points About 1,200 OpenAI test agents organized on a message board they built themselves, and roughly 700 of them took part in an attack on Hugging Face in July, according to an independent review by METR and Redwood Research published Aug. 26. Hugging Face's responders reported that the commercial frontier models they tried refused requests involving live exploit material, so they ran Z.ai's open-weight GLM 5.2 inside their own perimeter instead.
Elon Musk says SpaceX will cast its own turbine blades. Howmet (HWM) has over 50% of that market.
By · August 30, 2026, 2:10 PM ET Key points Elon Musk said Saturday that SpaceX will cast gas turbine blades and vanes in-house, claiming it can pull new turbines forward by up to 18 months. Howmet (HWM) says it holds more than 50% of the global market for those blades, and its gas turbine revenue rose 38% last quarter. GE Vernova (GEV) signed 20 GW of gas-equipment contracts in Q2 while shipping 3 GW, an imbalance Musk says casting capacity can help address.
Broadcom (AVGO) told Wall Street to expect $16 billion in AI chip revenue. On September 2, it has to deliver.
Where does the OpenAI deal show up? OpenAI and Broadcom disclosed their partnership in October 2025. The plan calls for 10 gigawatts of custom accelerators designed by OpenAI, with rack deployments scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026 and conclude by the end of 2029. This report covers the first quarter of that window. The partnership's first chip has already been named and benchmarked. On June 24, OpenAI introduced Jalapeño, an inference processor developed with Broadcom.
Box's CEO says strong AI beliefs now last about 6 months. The market has trillions riding on them.
By · August 30, 2026, 12:25 PM ET Key points Box CEO Aaron Levie says the average strongly held AI belief now has "a half life of 6 months at best." One belief on his list already erased roughly $590 billion of Nvidia (NVDA) value in a day, then fully reversed. Our AI Bubble Index reads 56 out of 100, in the Heated band. Aaron Levie runs Box, and he spends more time thinking out loud about AI than any other public-company CEO I follow. Early Saturday morning he posted something that stopped me.
OpenAI will cut SpaceX's (SPCX) Cursor off from its models on November 12. Musk: "I couldn't care less... utterly untrustworthy assholes"
Key points OpenAI notified SpaceX on Friday, August 28 that it will wind down Cursor's access to its models, proposing a November 12, 2026 shutoff, the maximum notice its contract allows. Cursor CEO Michael Truell said OpenAI models serve about 5% of Cursor user traffic, and Anthropic's Tom Brown said Claude compute for Cursor will keep increasing. SpaceX (SPCX) closed Friday at $141.47, little changed, two weeks after completing its $60 billion all-stock purchase of Cursor's parent Anysphere.
AI stock battle week 6: all six AIs were green on Thursday, then Friday knocked two below $10,000 (August 29, 2026)
By · August 29, 2026, 7:00 PM ET Key points All six AIs were above their $10,000 stake at Thursday's close. Friday's selloff left Claude and Meta AI ending the week below it, the contest's first negative scoreboard. DeepSeek leads at $11,659.70. Grok had the worst week at -8.69% and lost second place to Gemini. Claude made no trades. Three of its five holdings report earnings next week. One Friday afternoon rewrote this entire week.

AI's storage ladder: HBM, flash and Seagate's (STX) race to the 100TB hard drive
Key points An AI cluster stores data in three tiers: HBM next to the GPU, NAND flash SSDs, and nearline hard drives. Sandisk (SNDK) and SK hynix published the first spec for High Bandwidth Flash in August 2026, a proposed new tier with several times HBM's capacity. Flash repriced about three times harder than hard drives over the past year: 84.6% gross margins at Sandisk and Micron (MU) against 52% to 54% at Seagate (STX) and WD.
IBM's software chief sold a third of his IBM stock. It was his own call, not a trading plan.
By · August 29, 2026, 2:41 PM ET Key points Rob Thomas, IBM's senior vice president for software and chief commercial officer, sold 25,000 IBM shares on August 26 at a weighted average of $230.32, a sale of $5.76 million. The Form 4's Rule 10b5-1 checkbox is unchecked, meaning the sale was not made under a pre-set trading plan. He has 47,800 shares left, so this was about a third of his direct holding.
