What we learn from congregational Salat and collective worship is that goodness diffuses from one person to another. The one who stands beside the devoted begins to pray with devotion. To gain the most from this, we should apply it in a small and granular way. We should use it to lift the weak, the less active, and the inactive among us, and bring them back as active and enthusiastic members. Picture a camp of two or three days. An elder gathers about five young men. They live together.

Some punishments end when a people are destroyed. Others last longer than the people do. The Holy Quran names two nations whose story did not end when they fell. One is ʿĀd, the people of Hud, who lived in the south of Arabia, in what is now Yemen. The other is Pharaoh and his chiefs, who rejected Moses(as) . The Quran describes both in almost the same words. A curse was made to follow them in this world and on the Day of Resurrection.

The Promised Messiah(as) said : God Almighty declared in the beginning age that I am your God and now again, in the Latter Days, He has said that ʾanā al-mawjūd [I am present]. Remember that He is the Guide. If He were to let go, everyone would become an atheist. Thus, He continues to provide proof of His Being and this age is in particular need of this. (Malfuzat, Vol. 10, p. 150) In April 1906, The Promised Messiah(as) made a claim that stops the reader.

Most commentators say they were angels. Khalifatul Masih II(ra) disagrees. In Tafsir Kabir, his commentary on Surah Al Ankabut, he shows from the Quran itself that they were holy men. They were men of that region who received divine revelation.
