Al Islam

What am I leaving behind. Foam or water. Noise or signal (benefit). A fleeting trace or a lasting impact. Serving humanity is among the highest forms of pleasing God. It is not a peripheral teaching. It is central to the moral and spiritual order established by Allah. The one who benefits others becomes a means of lasting good. The one who harms becomes like foam that vanishes.

The Promised Messiah(as) states in Malfuzat July 9th 1900: “Remember that sympathy is of three kinds: physical, financial, and prayer. In the third form, one neither spends wealth nor undertakes physical effort. The scope and grace of this form of sympathy are immense. A person can only offer physical sympathy if they possess the strength to do so. For example, if a wounded person lies helpless and in pain, how can someone without strength carry and assist him?

We must not baptize moral corruption with the language of innovation Taʿāwanū ʿalā l birri wa t taqwā wa lā taʿāwanū ʿalā l ithmi wa l ʿudwān. Help one another in righteousness and piety, but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah. Surely Allah is severe in punishment. Al Ma’idah 5:3 This verse gives us the governing principle. A believer must ask not only whether something is profitable, modern, or popular. He must ask whether it helps righteousness or strengthens sin.

The Qur’an establishes a clear principle in Surah Al-Ahzab 33:6. It instructs believers to call people by the names of their fathers. This is described as more just in the sight of Allah. If the father is unknown, then individuals are to be treated as brothers in faith. Unintentional errors in this matter are forgiven, as intention holds greater weight. This guidance reflects both moral clarity and social order. Lineage is preserved. Identity is protected. Responsibility is not obscured.

Surah Hud presents a recurring pattern in sacred history. Nations were warned. Prophets spoke with clarity. The people mocked them. They demanded signs. They challenged divine punishment. Then punishment came. The people of Noah rejected for centuries. They ridiculed the Ark. The flood came. The people of Hud boasted of strength. They denied accountability. A violent wind destroyed them. The people of Thamud hamstrung the she-camel. They defied a clear sign. A blast overtook them.
