Hi all, We have recently had vendors approach us with laser blasting technology that claims to create profiles up to 150um in steel substrates. By their own admission, it is not yet economical for larger scale structures like we manufacture (civil steel bridge spans). Interested to hear from everyone in here if they have had any experience with this yet, and if they have seen any testing done etc.

The Association for Materials Protection and Performance The Oil and Gas Materials Selection & Metallurgy Technical Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data  for evaluation and methods of selection of types of metals for all types of equipment used for oil and gas production.
