Malicious authenticator app removed from Google Play Store Original

In a recent development, an authenticator app going by the name 2FA Authenticator remained under the radar for 15 days on the Play Store and more than 10,000 people downloaded the malicious app capable of stealing financial information. Now the app has been removed, and the cached description portrayed it as a secure authenticator with full-proof encryption and backups.
Google Maps explains moderation for reviews on platform
The past couple of years has seen much upheaval on a lot of platforms for various pandemic-related reasons. Platforms that deal with user reviews for businesses have also been affected due to COVID-related health and safety measures which not all customers agree with. Google Maps is one of those and now they’re explaining their moderation policies and procedures, most likely in light of Yelp’s recent report on the reviews on their site.
BlackBerry sells legacy patents related to mobile and messaging for $600M Original
The downfall of BlackBerry as a smartphone company continues. After its bid for survival on the back of third parties working with brand license is not paying off, the Canadian company is going ahead with the sale of its legacy patents to Catapult IP Innovations Inc. for $600 million. The collection of legacy patents relates to “mobile devices, messaging and wireless networking” but comprises “substantially all of its non-core patent assets,” the company claims.
Meta’s remote internet connectivity program Express Wi-Fi scrapped
Meta, formerly Facebook, brought to the world Express Wi-Fi back in 2016. The service promised better internet connectivity in public places for more than one billion prospect users who have to live with poor internet connection. For this Meta collaborated with multiple partners in the telecom sector (mobile and satellite operators) to create an ecosystem of public Wi-Fi access. To date, the service brings smooth internet to 30 countries, but now, the service is going to close.
Moto Edge 30 Pro renders leaked, global launch happening soon
The Moto Edge 30 Pro is about to be introduced. We’re anticipating its arrival as several image renders have been showed off recently. The photos presented the complete design of the phone including the punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter and the triple rear cameras. The phone will be available in Grey or Blue. If you think this Android phone looks familiar, it’s actually just a rehashed version of the Moto Edge X30.

YouTube is making a number of new features and improvements. Just recently, we noted the possibility it will let users loop video chapters. YouTube would also be focusing on user-generated content. There’s that Android TV version finally getting a better playlist UI. A new interface is now ready for the mobile app version. Specifically, the new full-screen player now makes it easier for a use to like or dislike a video, share, and view comments.

iMessage reactions now showing properly on Google Messages Beta
Google Messages may have only followed Apple’s iMessage after a few years but Google’s very own is now considered very useful. It’s something we have been waiting for since forever. The Android community is delighted that Google Messages can be sent to iPhones. Not all messages or reactions are sent or viewed as is. iOS Message reactions used to be shown differently on Google Messages Beta. Recent improvements have been made though as with the 20220121_02_RC00 update.

The team behind telegram has always been prolific when it comes to updates. Just last month, a new version was introduced with reactions, spoilers label, and translation. In December, the messaging app finally let users protect messages, delete by date, and manage devices.
