Rotary District 5160 honored Dr. Randy Smith of the Rotary Club of Redding with its Environmental Leadership Award during the District 5160 Awards and Installation Dinner at Hotel Winters on Saturday evening. The award recognized Dr. Smith’s exceptional leadership, sustained commitment to environmental stewardship, and his ability to inspire volunteers, organizations, and fellow Rotarians to improve and protect Northern California’s natural resources through hands-on community service.

I would have kept my last name when I got married, but it meant a lot to my husband to change it and I wasn't attached to my old one due to too many family dramas, and it was easier when the kids came; but it really is a pain to change everything.

Just when I think I’ve heard the last of my former last name, someone at a July 4th party asked one of my least favorite questions: “Didn’t you used to be Doni Greenberg?” Arrggh. Yes. At this point I’ve been without that name three years longer than I had it, but still, it lingers.
