One year on: landmark reforms helping build stronger retirement futures for women
HESTA modelling based on 18 weeks of paid parental leave shows the addition of super could add around $6,500 to a woman’s retirement balance. For women who take parental leave twice, the benefit rises to nearly $13,000. Those who received government-funded Parental Leave Pay during 2025–26 will see these super contributions in their accounts by the ATO after the end of the financial year. Further modelling by the Super Fund highlights the long-term impact of the 12% super guarantee.

Take part in study: How mental health nurses provide care in older adult mental health public inpatient settings
Patients often present with a combination of mental illness, dementia, confusion and behavioural disturbance. These wards are complex and fast-paced environments, requiring continuous decisions about what care is required, what should be addressed first, and what can safely be managed later.
Victoria to strengthen nurse/midwife to patient ratios
Premier Jacinta Allan said the Hospital Reclassification Review Bill, based on a fair and transparent review of agreed hospital data, will be introduced in July. The Bill will enact this long-awaited review of hospital levels, paving the way for improved public hospital staffing, adding an additional 253 full time equivalent nurses and midwives across the state. The legislation will reclassify 26 hospitals, including 17 in rural and regional Victoria, to a higher level.

A research team from the Parent-Infant Research Institute are investigating the factors that limit health professionals from using e-treatments in their practice.
