Annals of Internal Medicine is an academic medical journal published by the American College of Physicians (ACP). It is one of the most widely cited and influential specialty medical journals in the world. Annals publishes content relevant to the field of internal medicine and related sub-specialties. Summary for Patients: Stable Supportive Footwear for Self-managing Hip Osteoarthritis Pain
What is the problem and what is known about it so far? Hip osteoarthritis is very common, but effective nonsurgical ways to reduce pain and increase function are still limited. Previous research has reported that stable supportive shoes can improve arthritis symptoms in the knee. Therefore, it may be possible to improve symptoms of hip osteoarthritis by wearing these shoes.
