Enforcing international laws on countries contributing to global warming is challenging because compliance relies on voluntary participation and there are no overarching authorities with the power to impose penalties.
The paint that can protect homes from bushfires
Engineers at UNSW Sydney have developed FSA FIRECOAT, a fire-retardant paint that became the first to pass Australia’s stringent Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) 40 standard test. DNA disease detection global breakthrough
You’ll also probably have rapid testing kits at home, with the little strips you’d drop a few bits of mucus on to see if you’d been struck down. A new test devised by a team led by Professor Ewa Goldys, from UNSW’s Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering, promises the best of both worlds and much more. The new technology aims to be better than PCR. Anybody will be able to use it, just like a rapid antigen test, and they’ll spot many more illnesses than just covid.

As Founder and CEO DANIEL McDOUALL explains, “Squizify” is used by venues worldwide as an all-in-one solution for managing food safety reporting and covering tasks like temperature monitoring, food labelling, auditing, training and freight tracking.
Debbie O’Byrne - APAC Network
I’ve always been insatiably curious and must have driven my family crazy with my millions of “why” questions growing up. As I became more concerned about not just environmental issues, but other social problems driven by offshoring jobs to far-flung places I became interested in how humans make decisions. This led me to behavioral economics and systems thinking (my other passions besides building a circular economy) and one of the key elements in making decisions is information feedback loops.
Launching Australia’s small satellite expertise
In an Australian first, South Australian owned and manufactured satellite Kanyini has successfully launched onboard a SpaceX rocket from the United States. Kanyini is the first State Government-funded satellite in the nation and was built by a local team of South Australian-based companies – SmartSat CRC, Inovor and Myriota. The $6.5 million mission is helping to create hi tech jobs in the state’s space sector and develop vital space capabilities in the State.
