The advisory asks residents to guard against mosquito breeding and get medical help early if symptoms appear. The advisory came from the office of Itanagar Capital Region District Medical Officer Dr C. Lowang Mallo on Saturday, September 27.

It declined to suspend the measure while the challenge is pending. A bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana issued notice to the Centre, the Reserve Bank of India and the National Payments Corporation of India.

The Supreme Court has reserved its order on the Centre’s request to apply changes concerning the OBC creamy-layer criteria prospectively. The government has argued that applying the revised criteria to past appointments and admissions could create uncertainty and disturb decisions already made under the rules that were in force at the time. The issue concerns the eligibility criteria used to determine who falls within the OBC creamy layer and therefore remains outside the benefits of reservation.

A major landslide triggered by continuous rainfall struck Rimbi village in Sikkim’s West district, causing extensive damage to houses, government buildings and other properties. The incident occurred in the Yuksom-Tashiding area, where heavy rain led to the movement of earth and debris through the village. Officials have so far reported no loss of life. NEW DELHI: Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi formally objected at least 14 times over 10 months to decisions made in the name of the poll panel, according to an Indian Express investigation. The objections covered voter registration, the removal and restoration of names, appeals during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), and oversight of the systems that hold voter data.

22-09-2026, Anini: Sikkim-based rapper Ugen Namgyal Bhutia, widely known as UNB, and his manager were brutally attacked by a group of unidentified men in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Dibang Valley district. The ambush occurred as the artist was returning from a musical festival in Anini. According to police accounts and statements from UNB’s team, the team was traveling toward Roing around 6:00 PM when the attack took place near Tiwari Gaon.
