Global personal computer (PC) shipments grew 3.2% year-over-year (YoY) in quarter one (Q1) of 2026 to reach 63.3 million units, according to Counterpoint Research’s preliminary PC shipment data. Apple’s shipments jumped 11% YoY in Q1 2026, delivering 6.7 million units thanks to the initial shipments of the new MacBook Neos in March. Looking ahead, the ramp-up in production and delivery of these models is set to drive even more significant growth in the following quarter, according to Counterpoint.
Apple will release MacBook Pro and iPad mini models with OLED displays this year, according to the South Korean publication, ETNews. Of course, this isn’t exactly breaking news. However, ETNews says Samsung will supply the OLED displays for both devices. The current iPad mini and MacBook Pro models have LCD displays with either LED or mini-LED backlighting.
India’s smartphone shipments declined 3% year-over-year (YoY) in quarter one (Q1) of 2026, marking their weakest quarter in the last six years, according to Counterpoint Research’s Monthly India Smartphone Tracker. But it was pretty good news for Apple. The iPhone maker saw its shipment share reaching 9% in Q1 2026, driven by sustained strong momentum of the iPhone 17 series, supported by aggressive offers such as long-term EMI schemes and exchange offers.
China’s smartphone shipments fell 4% year-over-year (YoY) in quarter one (Q1) of 2026, according to preliminary data from Counterpoint Research’s Market Monitor Tracker. Apple has been granted a patent for “User Equipment Configuration For Anti-Theft.” In the patent Apple notes that someone’s electronic devices may be stolen without trace or proper measures to prevent possible theft. Under conventional circumstances, the current protection for the UE is to prevent the person who stole the device from flushing the current operating system.
