Alabama Public Television (APT) is a state network of Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member television stations serving the U.S. state of Alabama. It is operated by the Alabama Educational Television Commission (AETC), an agency of the Alabama state government which holds the licenses for all of the PBS member stations licensed in the state. The broadcast signals of the nine stations cover almost all of the state, as well as parts of Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee. The network produces public affairs and documentary programming; broadcast and online education programs for classroom use and teacher professional development; and electronic field trips serving K-12 students. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.).

WASHINGTON — After multiple switch-ups and voter confusion, the candidates running to represent four of Alabama’s congressional districts have been established. The Supreme Court’s ruling on Tuesday allows the state to use a congressional map in this year’s elections that a court previously found diluted the power of Black voters. With the decision, Alabama can now lock in the special August primaries for the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th congressional districts.

Three other candidates are also vying for the Republican nomination in the U.S. Senate race, including Rodney Walker, Seth Burton and Dale Shelton Deas, Jr. Those three men also received some support from the undecided voters in the recent statewide survey, but Gross said it’s unlikely that support transfers to the ballot box. Instead, it could translate to support for Hudson.
You may have wondered at some point: Am I doing enough to help my child get ready to read? Families hear more than ever about literacy gaps, school readiness and the lingering effects of the pandemic on children’s learning. National reading scores remain below pre-pandemic levels, and in Alabama, fourth-grade reading results on the National Assessment of Educational Progress have also slipped. But early childhood experts say the answer does not start with pressure or expensive programs.
