The Barn at Memhaven was designed after a fire destroyed two existing barns on the site, one dating from the 18th century and another from the early 20th century. The new building was designed to be leased for storage and office functions.
Casa Maridia is located in a consolidated residential fabric of coastal character, with a strong historical load and situated between the railway line, the sea, and two of the city’s most emblematic beaches. This environment is characterized by containing plots of medium dimensions and diverse shapes, mostly with private gardens, which developed and was built mainly during the second half of the 20th century.

On December 15, 2021, a devastating EF-1 tornado hit the small north central town of Rudd, population 348, causing widespread damage. The library was decimated physically and its collection flung far and wide. In the aftermath of this tragedy, the library board was determined to push forward, rebuilding stronger and better.
