Leeds Industrial Museum is one of 15 museums across the UK currently taking part in Mini Wonders, a research and development (R&D) programme exploring how museum spaces, and access to great art and culture, can support families and child development and increase the number of children who are ready for school.

Six museum networks spanning the breadth of the UK – from Edinburgh to Penzance, Lisburn to Carmarthen – will co-create 12 major touring exhibitions over the next five years, taking the UK’s collections on an epic journey that will result in 40 unique exhibitions made with and for local communities. Local communities will be invited to explore collections not currently on display, hand-picking artworks and objects to feature in touring exhibitions.

Barnsley Museums in partnership with the National Trust; May As the 20-hectare conservation project in Wentworth Castle Garden’s parkland begins, visitors will create animals and insects from recycled materials for an outdoor art installation this summer.
