“The main gist of this exhibition is to really show that even though he was not a Filipino citizen, he was Filipino at heart, and more so than ordinary Filipinos,” Francisco said. “Because aside from developing his aesthetics here in the Philippines, he retired here. He came back home. He gave his entire work, life's work, to the Filipino people, and in service to future artists.

The dinner was a preview of how the team works closely with clients to understand the purpose and theme of the event, then recommending a food concept and wine pairing to complete a memorable experience. Being more technical, some wine aficionados prefer specific wine regions or terroirs, while others explore different countries, producers, or grape varieties.

The story moves across the late 1960s, when Younger Noah and Allie begin their romance but are separated by Allie’s wealthy parents; to the 1970s, when Middle Noah and Allie spend years apart before finding their way back to each other; and finally to the present day, when Noah and Allie are in their twilight years. Exhibit A: The ending. Corridors ends with Anj and Katte literally getting lost in the house’s hallways, the image that gives the play its title. The house the filmmakers eventually scouted and fell in love with had no hallways at all. “Walang corridors,” Luarca says, still sounding a little amused by the irony.

In celebration of its 60th anniversary in the Philippines, Singapore Airlines (SIA) has gifted the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Manila with Flight, a commissioned artwork by Filipino artist Impy Pilapil, reflecting their strong cultural ties over the past decades. Flight was sculpted in 2015, made to capture the feeling of flying with SIA. The sculpture was previously located at SIA SilverKris Lounge in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.

Ravelas’ proposition is also quietly radical in an age when design is frequently measured through efficiency, spectacle, and visual impact. What if good design could instead make room for human vulnerability? What if the most meaningful space is one that allows us to do less? That question extends beyond the gallery.

Joining this distinguished roster are Presidential Medal of Merit awardee Ramon Orlina and celebrated masters Norma Belleza, Michael Cacnio, Lito Carating, Raul Isidro, Carlo Magno, Kublai Millan, Lydia Velasco, and Edwin Wilwayco. The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience works by artists whose contributions have helped shape the course of Philippine art history.

It doesn’t have to mean extravagance. A well-planned opening doesn’t necessarily need a large production or an elaborate program. Sometimes intention is simply in the invitation, the timing, the atmosphere, or the thought given to how people might experience the evening beyond walking in, looking at the work, and leaving. The Art World Still Gathers, Just Somewhere Else The shift also reflects a changing art market.
