This time, however, it commits its boldest act yet: turning its gaze toward the theater industry itself.

The program opened with a taiko drum performance, followed by a Mikoshi presentation featuring a portable shrine traditionally seen in Japanese festivals. Guests also enjoyed a performance by LIV Dance Academy, the first Japanese-owned dance studio in BGC. The event also featured the unveiling of Mitsuko, MITSUKOSHI BGC’s Kokeshi doll mascot, wearing a new outfit inspired by the colors of the Japanese and Philippine flags in celebration of the two milestones.

For nearly a decade, Kambal Gallery built its reputation far from home and without much of a home base at all. Founded in Hong Kong back in 2017 by twin sisters Anna Bernarte-Pendry and Irene Bernarte-Haagen, who pioneered in exporting and amplifying Filipino arts and talents. Their main vision is to provide a space for Filipino artists to showcase their work on the international stage,  through major art fairs such as: Affordable Art Fair, The Asia Contemporary Art Show and the list goes on.
