In 2022, AntennaWare, a Belfast, Ireland-based startup, burst onto the technology scene with some simply outrageous claims in an area of engineering that hasn’t seen any material gains or improvements since the Cold War. The company offers antennas that deliver superior wireless range and reliability in wearables and in challenging environments.

GN Hearing Care Corporation, the company that owns the Jabra brand, which used to be its consumer front until GN decided that “consumer” was too difficult and they could just focus on “more profitable” professional solutions that have nothing to do with the Danish group’s hearing care business, now announced three new headsets for work that look exactly as normal consumer headsets but are not because they are meant to be bought and used only by professionals.

The device to be explicated here comes from Audio Technology (AT) ApS. AT is new to Test Bench, but the company was founded in 1990 by Ejvind Skanning and his son Per Skaaning. Ejvind Skaaning was a legendary player in the Danish loudspeaker industry. Ejvind is one of the engineers attributed to the design of the hugely successful Dynaco A25 speaker in the 1970s. It’s a long story, but this project ultimately resulted in Ejvind Skaaning founding Scan-Speak in 1970.

Counterpoint’s Q1 2026 data shows display-less models expanding fastest as open-ear playback, microphone arrays, and voice-driven AI become core system components. According to Counterpoint Research, global intelligent eyewear shipments rose 83% year over year in Q1 2026, but the fastest growth came from display-less smart glasses, up 210%, ahead of AR glasses at 136%, while VR declined 17%.

Syntiant announced a collaboration with Vibe, a provider of contextual AI workspace solutions, to explore and develop next-generation voice-enabled products designed for professional productivity in real-world environments.

Swedish audio processing pioneer Dirac announced that Dirac Live Active Room Treatment is now available in Dirac Live Processor, the newly renamed evolution of Dirac Live Room Correction Suite. This way, Dirac’s most advanced room acoustic technology is now available as software for PC and Mac, expanding Dirac Live in audio systems where it is not already built in. This implementation represents a significant expansion for Dirac’s technology in home listening and project studio environments.
