The Adelaide Entertainment Centre welcomed more than 760,000 patrons during 2025-26, helping Adelaide Venue Management’s three major venues attract more than 1.25 million people in a record year. Figures released by the venue operator and South Australian Government show the Entertainment Centre, Coopers Stadium and Adelaide Convention Centre collectively hosted a record 1,200 events during the financial year.
Builder shortlisted for Brisbane’s new Olympic stadium
The joint venture between BESIX Watpac and John Holland has been selected as the sole finalist to build the new 63,000-seat Brisbane Stadium at Victoria Park. The consortium will now work with the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) and the stadium’s design team to finalise construction methods and design details. The main construction contract has not yet been awarded, with the selection process expected to conclude in early 2027.
Western Stand complete as UTAS Stadium redevelopment reaches new milestone
The Western Stand at UTAS Stadium is complete, adding 1,500 seats closer to the playing surface as the $130 million redevelopment of the Launceston venue continues. The new infill seating occupies space between the existing stand and the oval that was previously unused by spectators. Wider concourses have also been delivered to improve movement around the stand on event days.
Rugby World Cup 2027 names 29 training venues across Australia
Twenty-nine outdoor training venues have been confirmed for the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup, extending the tournament’s reach from its eight match stadiums into rugby clubs, schools, universities and community grounds across seven Australian cities. The facilities will be used by the 24 participating teams as they move between host cities during the tournament.
