Karnataka has strengthened its position in India’s electric mobility sector by becoming the country’s second-largest state in terms of installed electric vehicle charging stations. According to data from the Ministry of Heavy Industries, the state had 6,805 EV charging stations as of July 29, 2026, placing it just behind Maharashtra. Maharashtra currently leads the country with 6,985 EV charging stations, giving it a narrow lead of 180 stations over Karnataka.
