The Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association's (JA&WMA) Editorial Review Board established two new annual publication awards in 2025. The awards are presented to the two most outstanding papers published in JA&WMA over the preceding 12 months by either a student or early career author (for the purpose of this award, early career means within 7 years of most recent degree). All authors submitting papers to JA&WMA through the normal channels are eligible for the current year awards cycle.

Each year, the Air & Waste Management Association recognizes individuals and companies for outstanding accomplishments in the promotion of a clean environment through its Honors and Awards Program . These awards were created by the Association to encourage environmental professionals, educators, researchers, and industry leaders to serve as models for others to emulate and, in doing so, further the mission and objectives of the Association.
