PHOENIX – Closures are scheduled along freeways and ramps this weekend (Sept. 25-28) for improvement projects in the Phoenix area, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation has begun critical repair work on US 160 near Dennehotso after the roadway sustained significant damage from storms on Sept. 16. Following inspections, work began this week, under a contract allowing for urgently needed repairs, with the goal of restoring two lanes of travel on US 160 by early October. This schedule could be affected by weather, but ADOT’s goal is to reopen the highway as soon as possible.

Blasting also planned for Sept. 29, Oct. 6; drivers should expect delays PAYSON – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to expect intermittent closures of State Route 260 east of Payson, near Star Valley, on Tuesday, Sept. 22; Tuesday, Sept. 29; and Tuesday, Oct. 6, for rock blasting operations. The work is part of the SR 260 Lion Springs Improvement Project.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), in partnership with the Maricopa Association of Governments and the City of Chandler, has initiated a project to widen the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) between Interstate 10 and the Loop 101 (Price Freeway.) The project seeks to address growing traffic volumes and alleviate congestion in Chandler, Gilbert and the Southeast Valley. In June 2020 a design concept report was completed for Loop 202 between Interstate 10 and Val Vista Drive.

Project Cost: $9.1 million The Arizona Department of Transportation is currently working on a project to replace the Five Mile Wash Bridge and the Little Colorado River Bridge along US 180 near Holbrook. The bridges are located southeast of downtown Holbrook at mileposts 309 and 310 respectively on the way to the city of St. Johns. The project is expected to be completed by fall 2027.
