Households are motivated to reduce their energy consumption and help mitigate climate change, but unaffordable technologies and rental restrictions are preventing them from doing so, according to a recent Charles Darwin University (CDU) study. The study explored energy practices in Darwin and Palmerston in the Northern Territory.

New research published today as part of the annual Dräger Safety & Health at Work Report has outlined a rising risk of a major industrial disaster, with more than half (53%) of respondents suggesting that the risk of such an event in their sector is higher today than it was ten years ago.

A decline in engineering graduates could wipe £6.5 bn from the UK economy by 2035, according to new analysis by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) and STEM workforce consultancy SThree. The sector is currently projected to contribute £83 bn to the nation’s economy by 2035, but a drop in engineering graduates of just 2% would see that figure would fall to £77 bn.
