Friday evening at 6:45 pm, there will be a screening in Silver Spring, Maryland of the new documentary about legendary journalist Amy Goodman called “Steal This Story, Please!” I’ve heard it’s truly excellent. After the screening, I’ll be doing a Q&A with Amy herself, and Oscar-nominated filmmaker and DC native Tia Lessin, a real privilege.

For updates on the newest war on Iran, I’m live with Jeremy Scahill, Ali Abunimah in Jordan, and Iranian-American analyst Hooman Majd.
Breaking Points for February 26, 2026
On today’s program, Krystal Ball and I discussed the latest on war with Iran, war on Cuba, the apparent AI propensity to launch nuclear war when given the chance, and also interview the American Prospect’s Dave Dayen, David Hogg of “Leaders We Deserve,” and Nida Allam, running in North Carolina’s 4th district, an election coming next week.
Breaking Points for December 15, 2025
I filled in for Krystal on today’s program, which was a dark one, given the mass shootings in Australia and at Brown University, and the ongoing deterioration of living conditions in Gaza, fueled by Israel’s ongoing siege and routine violations of the ceasefire agreement. We also discussed the tragic murder of Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle. I'm in a debate tonight in Washington
I’ll be debating the virtues (or lack thereof) of Big Tech. I’ll be teamed up with my Breaking Points co-host Emily Jashinsky and we’ll be taking on two libertarians, one my former co-host at Rising, as well as Elizabeth Nolan Brown. It’s at 7 pm tonight at The Miracle Theatre (535 8th St SE) if you don’t have plans. Tickets are $30 but if you use the promo code RVBTFRIEND the tickets are just $10. After the show, the venue turns into a little gathering where we’ll mingle with the folks there.

Landslide win for Irish leftist presidential candidate; a new book recommendation
There’s a new book out on foreign lobbying and corruption in Washington that I highly recommend, called Devils’ Advocates: The Hidden Story of Rudy Giuliani, Hunter Biden, and the Washington Insiders on the Payrolls of Corrupt Foreign Interests. We interviewed the author, Ken Vogel, this weekend for Breaking Points. On Friday, Irish voters went to the polls to choose the country’s next president.
Breaking Points for October 15, 2025
I cohosted with Saagar today; we led with the latest on Israel ceasefire news. Trump wants to bail out Argentina but only if the right wing candidate wins the upcoming elections. Pakistan carried out a largely hidden massacre this week, possibly of more than 1,000 people, cracking down on a pro-Palestine protest. And I take a closer look at some trash B… Keep reading with a 7-day free trial Subscribe to Ryan Grim to keep reading this post and get 7 days of free access to the full post archives.

On today’s program, we led with the government shutdown and interviewed Freedom Caucus Rep. Ben Cline and Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley. We also covered the soypocalypse hitting US farmers amid Trump’s bailout of Argentina, speaking to a grain expert and host of the Grain Markets podcast. Also updates on the ceasefire proposal.
Breaking Points for Sept. 23, 2025
I filled in today for Krystal because I’ll be out tomorrow, heading to NYC for the UN General Assembly meeting (where Trump is speaking now). Saagar and I covered the Trump autism/Tylenol announcement, the Tom Homan scandal, Trump’s threats against Venezuela, David Petraeus and Ahmed al-Shaara on stage together in New York, and Trump’s collapsing econom… Keep reading with a 7-day free trial Subscribe to Ryan Grim to keep reading this post and get 7 days of free access to the full post archives.
