CNC Onsite, a Vejle-based specialist in mobile precision machining for wind turbines, is opening its first foreign subsidiary in Houston, Texas. The company said on 16 September that CNC Onsite Inc. has already completed its first repair jobs and will offer uptower yaw ring, shaft and blade root repairs to wind farm operators across the United States without the use of heavy cranes. The pitch rests on the cost of crane logistics.

Energiequelle GmbH has commissioned a new wind turbine at Danna in Brandenburg, expanding the neighbouring Feldheim wind farm. The Enercon E-138 EP3 E3 machine has a rated capacity of 4.26 MW and a hub height of 160 metres. The turbine is expected to generate around 9,000 MWh a year, which the company says corresponds to the annual consumption of roughly 2,600 to 2,700 three-person households.

A new service company has entered the German wind sector. scopea GmbH, based in Berlin, brings together measurement technology, operational analysis and technical optimisation with independent expert assessments for wind energy projects. The company will formally launch at WindEnergy Hamburg 2026. scopea aims to serve project developers, operators, investors and lenders across the life cycle of a wind farm.

The Horizon Europe research project MERIDIONAL, which has spent four years studying the physics of wind and its effect on onshore, offshore and airborne wind energy systems, is closing with a commercial spin-off. Ventoplani, an Italian start-up founded by researchers at Politecnico di Milano, is bringing small-scale airborne wind energy devices, which it calls windplanes, to homes, businesses and off-grid locations.
