The BarDown hockey team has vastly improved over the years, consistently moving up divisions on their quest to be the greatest beer league team in Toronto. More recently, however, we have been challenging ourselves in a new way – THE GAUNTLET. The Gauntlet is essentially seeing how BarDown does playing AAA hockey teams, starting with literal children (Under-10) and moving up in increments. Most recently, we took on a Under-14 team, and the skill/size jump was VERY evident.

In The Pipes with Pollock is back! The series where NHL stars joins Jesse on his stinky hockey bag that sits in the frame of a dinky road hockey net. In other words, the series where NHL stars hit their all-time low. Just kidding, of course. The NHLers always handle the series with much appreciated enthusiasm, and dare we say they even seem to have a little fun with it.

We’ve made a lot of videos over the years, and there have been a lot of winners crowned. Instead of one competition, where the highest scorer wins, we’re trying out an entirely new format… You don’t need to win the round, you just can’t LOSE the round. It’s a knockout challenge, baby! Luca, Sam, Jesse, Poc, and Eric compete in a competition of various skills – speed, accuracy, breakaway, and one-on-one – in an effort to find the most well-rounded BarDown team member.

Recently, we sat down with Matthew Schaefer and asked him 48 extremely random questions. The reason why we chose 48 as the number? Because it was Matthew Schaefer’s jersey number when he was with the Erie Otters, of course! But how would Matthew Schaefer do at guessing jersey numbers of NHL players? We stuck him in a seat directly in between Poc and Jesse to test his knowledge of jersey numbers.

If you haven’t been living under a social media rock over the last few years, you’ve likely seen our YouTube videos (or shorter social clips from within our YouTube videos) of professional athletes from certain teams calling each other out. That includes teams from the NHL, the IIHF, the PWHL, along with a handful of other sports. This is just like that, with one minor (MAJOR) difference. It’s not professional athletes. It’s a bunch of beer league scrubs calling each other out for fun.

THE QUIZ IS BACK, BABY! You MAY have been expecting this, considering we do it literally every year, but we’ve got a new quiz featuring a look back at another NHL season in the books. As DZ explains in the video, these particular quizzes are essentially yearbooks of the year that was. You can expect 4 Nations, you can expect Ovi’s 895th goal, you can expect the retirement of Marc-Andre Fleury.

It’s the age-old question: how do you fix the Toronto Maple Leafs? Before the NHL Draft and Free Agency, we hit the streets of downtown Toronto to find out what Maple Leafs fans themselves had to say. Our guys Jadon and Dante set up shop and asked fans for their honest, unfiltered takes on how to turn the team around. The responses? Let’s just say…they didn’t disappoint.

Welp, so comes an end to the vaunted Leafs “Core 4,” that in the end was unable to advance further than one round. While Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and John Tavares will try to run it back once again next year, the familiar #16 will no longer be on the Leafs bench. Mitch Marner is moving on after the Leafs completed a sign-and-trade to send him to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for Nicolas Roy. Marner’s time in Toronto could be classified as a roller coaster.

The 2025 NHL Free Agent Frenzy has come to an end, and we hope you’re as ready as we are to talk about all the madness from Tuesday. From massive extensions to underrated pickups, DZ, Luca and Thomas  break down which teams came out swinging and which ones might’ve overplayed their hand.
