Haven’t done a sunrise from Grosvenor Bridge for a while. Yes, I will admit that was taken last week, but l needed to soak in that life-giving energy this morning. Laure Dabre tells me there will be 2 free screenings of the PEOPLE’S EMERGENCY BRIEFING film, fronted by Chris Packham, on 16th October at the All Saints Centre in Weston, BATH BA1 4BX, at 2 pm and 6.30 pm. This is a free event on the climate and nature crisis with discussions afterwards.

It’s one of the most popular annual events to grace the walls and floors of the Victoria Art Gallery, and this year it happens to be the Bath Society of Artists’ 121st open exhibition. Today, Saturday, September 19th, is launch day, and this amazingly colourful and eclectic collection of art and sculpture will be on display until November 7th. Apart from enjoying what is on display, you can buy it too. A handy numbered catalogue has all the details and the prices attached to 410 pieces on display.

Residents, businesses, community groups and other stakeholders are being invited to take part in the final six-week consultation on Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Draft Local Plan before it is submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for independent examination. If approved, the plan will help shape where new homes, jobs and infrastructure are delivered up to 2043 and will play a key part in meeting the area’s growing need for housing.

Good to see B&NES presenting itself with a planning application to ‘include remedial works to the roofs of the Guildhall and Market Hall, including installation of new roof coverings and associated leadwork repairs.
