Hamilton Police have arrested two people and seized drugs, and prohibited weapons following an investigation into drug trafficking in east Hamilton. The investigation began earlier this year after police received information regarding suspected drug trafficking from a residence on Kenilworth Avenue North. Thursday6, police executed a search warrant at the residence and arrested two people without incident.

For the second time in two days Halton Regional Police Service have released high-quality images of a break-in suspect that should assist in identifying them. The latest release concerns a series of break and enters at a condominium building in Burlington. On August 16, 2026, a male suspect broke into a condominium building in the area of Brant Street and Lakeshore Road in Burlington. The suspect entered five units in the building while the residents were not home.

Halton Police have issued a photo of a car believed to have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Burlington. The collision took place at about 3:45pm Thursday in the area of Maple Ave & Richmond Rd in Burlington, just south of Mapleview Mall. An adult woman was struck by the car and died later. The driver did not remain at the scene. The suspect vehicle was dark coloured sedan. It was last seen northbound on Maple Ave. Police expect it would have front end damage.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a daytime break and enter at a rural residence in Halton Hills. The incident took place in broad daylight  Friday, August 14 when a male suspect strolled up to a rural residence in the area of Number 5 Side Road and Sixth Line in Halton Hills. The suspect knocked on the front door and looked into the backyard. After confirming the home was vacant, the suspect broke into the residence by smashing the locked front door.

Joe Gesualdi’s Miles4Amiracle walk from his home in London to Queens Park will reach Hamilton this weekend. Gesualdi, from London is pushing an empty wheelchair representing his daughter Syndey who requires spinal surgery that can only be performed in the United States at a cost of nearly half a million dollars. The surgery is needed after Sydney who was 24 years old in 2023 when she suffered a catastrophic neck injury when her vehicle was struck from behind while stopped at a red light.

The Salvation Army is continuing its longstanding partnership with the Winona Peach Festival, Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) and Eastgate Square to help people in the Hamilton community experiencing food insecurity. Festival-goers parking at Eastgate Square and taking the HSR shuttle are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food or monetary donation to help people in the community who may be struggling to put food on the table.

Everybody is on the same page in hailing the Province’s approval of $572 Million for servicing for future residential growth in Hamilton. The funding is intended to compensate the city for dropping development fees normally charged to builders in an attempt to resuscitate the ailing housing market. The money is compensation for Hamilton’s commitment to eliminating development charges on all residential developments from March 30, 2026, to March 31, 2029.

The Dan Lawrie International Sculpture Collection (DLISC) has acquired Spheres of Influence, an interactive stainless-steel sculpture by renowned Canadian artist Ron Baird and donated to the permanent Dan Lawrie International Sculpture Collection at the Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) in Hendrie Park. Known for his imaginative large-scale sculptures and public artworks across Canada, Baird’s work has captivated audiences for decades.

Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Homicide Unit now have one of two murder suspects in custody. Today, Josta MacNeal was arrested in Montreal by Service de police de la Ville de Montreal (SPVM) and will be returned to Niagara to face a second-degree murder charge in the July shooting death of 35-year-old Mitchell Snoddon of Niagara Falls. Maaroof Bangi remains outstanding. As no firearm has been recovered in connection with this incident, Bangi is considered armed and dangerous.
