One of the big headlines heading into the Boston College Football season is how the offense will look. For all the mistakes and blunders from last year, it’s time to turn the page and start off 2026-27 with a clean slate. An area that looks to be the most different on offense comes from their QB and WR room. Tons of changes have happened, and it’s important to examine exactly how each of those positional groups will fare out.

Like many other position groups on this 2026/2027 Boston College Football roster, the running backs group looks very different. Leading rusher Turbo Richard (145 carries, 749 yards, 9 TDs in 2025) is off to Indiana, Jordan McDonald (94 carries, 397 yards, 4 TDs in 2025) has exhausted his eligibility, and longtime program stalwart Alex Broome (7 carries, 10 yards, 1 TD in 2025) is gone as well. That is a lot of production to replace.

Former Boston College forward Andre Gasseau agreed to a two-year, two-way entry level contract with the San Jose Sharks. Gasseau was originally selected in the seventh round of the 2021 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins. The team held his rights until they were traded to the Sharks on June 18 along with the 120th selection for the 104th and 157th picks. Gasseau had until August 15 to sign before he became an unrestricted free agent. The 6-foot-4 forward spent the last four years with Boston College.

Bill O’Brien and the Eagles landed a commitent from 2028 DB Mikey Landers. The product of Tabor Academy in Massachusetts took to social media on Tuesday to make his announcement.

Boston College’s quarterback room has undergone a full reset, and it carries much more mystery than it has in years. Dylan Lonergan and Shaker Reisig are out, Grayson James has graduated, and Bill O’Brien went portal shopping to reload. In come Mason McKenzie and Grayson Wilson, alongside freshman Femi Babalola to feature in a completely new-look group. McKenzie is the lead man, even if he’s still something of an unknown at the FBS level.

Boston College’s 2026 recruiting class may have been slow to materialize, but has come together beautifully, 25 members strong. It’s not easy for a freshman to make a major impact, especially in the transfer portal era, but between injuries and performance, a handful always do.

Arguably the best season in Boston College Baseball’s recent history has come to a close. In a rematch of Friday’s regional opener against Liberty, the Eagles fell 8-3. After jumping out ahead 2-0 in the first inning, Boston College struggled for the next eight innings to generate any consistent offense. Liberty, meanwhile, broke through in the third and cruised to the win. The afternoon actually started positively for Birdball.

The Boston College baseball team bounced back after a heartbreaking loss in their NCAA Regional opener on Friday by knocking off Long Island 8-4 on Saturday afternoon to keep their season alive. The Eagles jumped out to a big lead early on and cruised for most of the game before Long Island gave them a bit of a scare in the eighth inning to make things a bit closer. Things never got too nervous for BC, however, and the Eagles will get to play at least one more game on Sunday as a result.
