The Bergen County Prosecutor is the chief law enforcement officer for the County of Bergen. As a constitutional officer charged with the broad obligation "to use all reasonable and lawful diligence for the detection, arrest, indictment and conviction of offenders against the laws," the Prosecutor has wide-ranging authority over the law enforcement community in the county. With that authority come tremendous responsibilities and obligations, both to the law enforcement community itself and to all the citizens of Bergen county. Source

LODI, NJ MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL
For Immediate Release: August 7, 2026 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 20-year-old JESUS ARELLANO of Lodi, NJ, on the charge of possession of child sexual abuse material. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer.

ALMONTE, and 22-year-old JULIAN GUZMAN, both of the Bronx, NY, on charges stemming from an armed robbery. DOUBLE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION
For Immediate Release: July 20, 2026 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information regarding the fatal shooting that occurred on Ridge Road in North Arlington, NJ. On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at approximately 8:37 p.m., the North Arlington Police Department received several reports of a shooting incident near the intersection of Ridge Road and Belleville Turnpike, where Ridge Road becomes Kearny Avenue at the border of the two municipalities.
